I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! It was a holiday weekend here and I know it was a special weekend for my American friends as well.
I had a great time at the weekend. I spent some of my time doing all the usual stuff a dog has to do – things like eating, sleeping, barking, walking my bipeds. I’m very excited about the upcoming draw to win the book ‘Someone To Look Up To’, so I’ve been busy preparing for that.
It took a long time to choose a suitable hat to put all the entries in. I think this one is perfect!
The only trouble is that the cats also think it’s perfect – for sitting in! Apparently, it’s as desirable to sit in as a cardboard box, so I’ve had to keep it away from them. That made them cross, so I asked the bipeds to find a cardboard box the cats could have. No one likes it when the cats are grumpy!
I spent some time with my bipeds reading the questions that have been sent in and planning how to answer them. I made the bipeds check that I had put all the entries in the hat and that none were missing. They’ve promised to do that again for me when the deadline has passed.
The bipeds are also going to help draw the name from the hat. Even the cats are keen to watch this happen. I wish that everyone could win. I hope to be able to tell you who the winner is next week.
You still have until midnight (British Summer Time) Sunday (31st May) to enter the draw to win a free copy of ‘Someone To Look Up To’ – read ‘Spotlight on Blanche aka The Princess‘ for details of how to enter.
See you next Wednesday!
For some reason, I thought the drawing was only open for those in Europe or the UK, not the USA. Is that right?

I have good news – the draw is open to anyone, wherever in the world you are.
The cats love that hat too… no wonder they probably read that book from Dr. Seuss and thought that’s the right way to be the cat with the hat :o)

You could be right, Easy – that cat is cool! But sometimes I think they just enjoy teasing me a little.
Well chosen on the hat front Clowie and very sensible to provide a decoy box for the cats! Do look forward to hearing who wins.

I’m thinking of keeping a desirable carboard box available at all times – it keeps them out of mischief! I’m glad you like my choice of hat.
Perhaps you could make the cats a box that looks like a topper?

That’s a good idea – I’ll get to work on it.
Great hat to use, Clowie. We have gone over and entered!

I’m sure you’d look cute!
It is very important to have the correct hat, Clowie’s. It is good you are taking it very seriously! How clever to supply a diversion box for the cats! Genius! MOL

Yes, I’m glad you understand it’s important to have the correct hat. They are thrilled with their cardboard box, they’re taking turns sitting in it!
Great hat, Clowie! You should try wearing it!

I think it would suit me! Maybe I will wear it after the draw is done.
That’s a great celebratory hat for you, Clowie. Good luck with the draw. wag wag from all your friends out west

Yes, it’s good to be back! Have a great weekend!
I’d love to see a photo of you in that hat, Clowie! I bet Dr. Seuss would have found a way to write about a Pyrenean rather than a cat if he could have seen you wearing one. 🙂

I think you’re right, a Pyrenean in a hat would make a great story! I’d like to know how Dr. Seuss got the cat to wear the hat – my cats just want to sit in them!
Unfortunately I am far too late to enter but I’m sure it was very successful 🙂
It was fun interviewing Blanche and very nice of her to give a book away.
Oh, Clowie, I am so sorry I missed this giveaway. I hope you and the cats will be joining us for Multiple Pet Mania going all through June. And speaking of giveaways, our #MultiPetDay Twitter and Instagram photo contest is international so you and the cats should enter!
By the way, that is quite the lovely hat. If Amelia did to that hat what she does to boxes (which is not sit but CHEW) I would be very sad.
It would be a shame if Amelia chewed the hat. At least the cats didn’t damage it – apart from a coating of fluff, and I’m in no postition to complain about a few stray hairs on my things when I moult so profusely myself!
I will take a look at what is going on in Multiple Pet Mania and see what I can get involved in later in the month.
