Settling in

I enjoyed my holiday at home with the bipeds. We had lots of long walks and the bipeds seem refreshed, even though they did do some jobs around the house and garden when they had said they were just going to relax.

I had to remind them once or twice that they should be out walking with me. I didn’t do this for selfish reasons, although I’m always ready for a walk, or an adventure – I was concerned as they had been tired when we moved and I know that there is nothing that refreshes them like a good long walk with me.

I expect you’re wondering how I knew they were tired and in need of a break, so I’ll explain. After spending a few days in a flurry of activity, hardly stopping for a break while they unpacked and cleaned, the bipeds suddenly flopped into chairs and refused to move for a few hours. They were both complaining about aches and pains from doing too much. I have made a study of biped behaviour, so I was able to understand these subtle signs.

Ducks resting on the grass

Ducks taking a siesta

I think these ducks that we saw were also showing signs of needing a rest!

I’ll be back soon with lots more news of my adventures!

  1. wow you moved to a super place… imagine what tasty treats are on this meadow :o) I’m always confused when humans are toooooo tired for something… I mean who can be toooo tired for a walk or for a funny soccer game? that means they are toooo tired for fun… crazy, huh?

  2. Congratulations on getting settled in. And good luck with the rest of it. You are very considerate and understanding of your bipeds. Forcing them to take a walk is exactly what they need when they’re too tired to move.

  3. Moving is hard work. I know as we moved over the Atlantic when I was a pup, and then we moved once here in the USA. Mom likes to move, but we have been in our house like forever now and don’t seem to be planning to move in the near future. Hope you like your new place.

  4. Glad you are getting settled and that the bipeds are getting their energy back. It is nice to hear from you!

  5. Glad you are settling in…lucky bipeds to have such an understanding chap as you to keep an eye on them.

  6. Hope the move went well and the bipeds and you are feeling a lot more settled

  7. Nice to hear from you, Clowie. And you were very smart about getting your bipeds out for a walk with you. It is refreshing. Moving is stressful and that, along with all the wonderful things that you bring to them will help a lot. Good job, my friend. Cyber hugs to ya’ll. Paulette & gang

  8. Funny how bipeds can miss what’s staring in their faces. What a good thing they have such a sensible soul like you around Clowie!

  11. We are so glad you are taking such good care of your bipeds, Clowie! We know when you move to a new home, there is SO much to do, and even when you plan to relax all of those projects call you away. It’s a good thing to have dogs that remind us to take some breaks!

  12. Clowie, I don’t know what would happen to those humans if you weren’t looking after them. They’d probably wander off into a lake by themselves or forget to walk all together.
