My feline friends

Mulberry and Pippin, my cats, said that it’s too long since they’ve appeared in one of my tales. I asked them what they would like me to write about them and they asked me to come up with some ideas and then they would help me to write the post.

Mulberry, Persian cat, with towels

I’m helping the biped!

Each time I went to talk to them about my ideas, they were busy. Mulberry appeared to be resting on a pile of clean towels, but he assured me he was helping the biped sort out my towels. He also said that the biped had a bath planned for me soon – he’s probably right!

Each time I checked on them after that they said that they were doing their yoga. Then they needed to groom themselves and then they groomed each other.

Finally they said they were ready to help. They settled themselves comfortably and I began to read my ideas to them. They made a few comments and then they went very quiet. I looked up and they were fast asleep!

This is their idea of helping!

I’ll tell you about some of the strange things they do. Mulberry likes to jump out from a hiding place – he’s always hoping to scare Pippin or me! Sometimes we pretend that he almost scared us because he tries so hard.

If either of them vomit, they panic and move backwards to get away from it. The bipeds ask them to keep still and be sick in one place, but they don’t listen they keep moving! Mulberry pukes a little and then jumps backwards a couple of feet and keeps repeating that until he’s finished, but Pippin can run really fast backwards and puke at the same time – it’s quite impressive!

Oh, they’ve woken up, apparently this isn’t funny and not at all the sort of thing they had in mind!

Mulberry says that his favourite stories are “Purrfect obedience cat” and “The chair scare“. Pippin says that you should all make sure to read my very first interview called “A fridge too far“.

They’ve gone back to sleep, they’ve obviously had a very tiring day. I won’t get any more sense out of them now, so I’ll tell you there’s a list of cat tales.

See you next Wednesday!

  1. Mulberry is pretty good at the laser stink eye when he is helping fold towels. Otherwise they are pretty good at energy conservation! Thanks for sharing kitty time Clowie! You have very pretty kitty siblings.

  2. Okay Clowie, now Peachy is thrilled with your blog! He was wondering when you’d do a kitty post! Him being a kitty & all he was beginning to think you we’re prejudice against the feline variety!! Clearly your open to all which makes you just about the coolest cat…strike that…DOG in town! As for Mulberry & Pippin, I think they’re totally fooling you! Peachy has informed Inion, that’s not Yoga their doing! I’ve never seen Downward dog quite so relaxing! lol Last but not least, you should totally sign Pippen up for the All star Cat Olympics! Peachy says he’s heard of some pretty amazing cats who can run backwards really fast and yes, some cats who are world champion pukers! But to do both at the same time….well that just takes the litterbox! Great post Clowie, sharing now!! πŸ˜‰

    • I like kitties – I’m always disappointed when cats I meet when I’m out run away! When Pippin wakes up I’ll ask him how he feels about appearing in the Cat Olympics. I suspect there’s a lot of competition in the sleeping event!
Thank you, I’m glad that you, and Peachy, enjoyed it!

  3. They are in a very strange mood! Lol πŸ˜‰ Maybe they were sleeping off the yoga and dreaming about your bath times! They certainly have some interesting if not slightly unsavory habits though! At least dogs tend to do such things in one spot lol πŸ™‚

  4. I’m not so sure I could handle cleaning up after the cats! My stomach’s a bit sensitive when it comes to those sorts of things. πŸ™‚

  5. Yep, that’s the way it is with the kitties. But I can tell you how to get their attention….you need to do your interviews at NIGHT, not in the daytime. You will get better results then!

  6. With tricks like that it’s a good job you are so well behaved!!

  7. Those yoga cats look like they’d enjoy a good belly rub!

    • Mulberry, the fluffy one, loves his tummy being rubbed but Pippin, the tabby, only allows it to be touched briefly – typical cat sending out mixed signals!

  8. Cats!!! You’re very good Clowie, to get on with cats… My Earl hates them :-/
Nice to come by your blog again!
Take a peek at us sometime?

Lots of Woofs from Earl an I at Earl’s World!

  9. Very cute story about your feline friends, Clowie. I liked the yoga of course! And the puking. LOL

  10. oh the moggies are adorable Clowie πŸ™‚ How was the bath πŸ˜‰ LOL

  11. Your kitties are sure having a great life. Yoga and naps, LOL Such fluffy kitties too, very very cute πŸ˜€ My cat Petals has had tummy troubles ever since we adopted her. I’m now trying a anti-allergenic formula that’s Gluten free. She hasn’t gotten sick in 4 days, I’m very hopeful. We’ve just bought a house and I’m hoping to not have her be sick on the carpets there. fingers crossed.
