Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

I hope you’re all looking forward to Christmas!

My letter to Santa appeared on Rumpy’s blog. My thanks to Rumpy for passing my message on to Santa. Many of my animal friends have sent lovely requests to Santa this year, it would be wonderful if all their wishes came true.

I’m still hoping that anyone wondering about getting a Santa Pup will think very carefully and find out about the breed. See – Santa Pups for Christmas? Read this first, straight from the doggy’s mouth.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

I have made lots of friends this year. It is fascinating to talk with animals and people from all over the world. Thank you to each and every one of you that lets me know you’ve visited my blog – either here or on other social media. It really makes my tail wag when one of you tells me you’ve enjoyed reading what I have to say!

In Spain, presents traditionally arrive 6th January – they are brought by the Three Kings on camels. Children leave out their shoes on the evening of 5th and in the morning the shoes contain presents. Santa didn’t used to visit Spain, but now he does so the children are very lucky – they get two lots of presents!

My bipeds have some time off and I’m going to be busy keeping an eye on them. I’m hoping to take them up the mountain a few times to play in the snow. The exercise will be good for them!

I plan to post again on 9th January.

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and New Year.

See you next year!

  5. You sure you take a nap whilst your bipeds do the tree Clowie πŸ˜‰ I can imagine what you might be doing instead and I would feel very sorry for your hardworking bipeds! Tossing decorations is one of the least troublesome games I can guess at you playing lol It is a lovely tree though, and all you have to do now is wait for your bipeds shoes to be filled up with treats! Have a lovely christmas Clowie, I’ll miss you on here whilst you’re away πŸ™‚ Wolfie hugs πŸ˜‰

    • I did wag my tail too near to it once, but only about six decorations came off! I wasn’t allowed near it my first Christmas. I’m very careful about the tree – I like the rewards for being good. The cats play with the decorations at the base sometimes, so those are always unbreakable ones. I hope you have a lovely time and I’ll see you next year. Clowie Cuddles!

  6. Your bipeds set up a beautiful tree for the holidays! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year, and I’ll see you in 2013!

  7. Clowie, you have to wait until January 6! I would go crazy! I want to know what I got now!

    • Oh no, we don’t wait until 6th January. We celebrate Christmas Day the way we did when we lived in England – a big lunch and presents from Santa! We have a few small presents on 6th January. We feel that, being English and living in Spain, we’re entitled to choose the best celebrations from both cultures!

  12. Clowie, what a beautiful tree! No matter what we hang on ours, it is decorated with live cats. We really enjoyed all the Dear Santa letters at Rumpy’s. You have a great Christmas and a wonderful New Year! Have fun teaching your peoples, its your turn this time. Purrs and see you in the new year, sweet friend.

  13. “Presents and shoes, what is better! I love your tree Clowie! And looking forward to all the good stuff I hope you’ll be getting. Keep being beautiful, big guy!” Love Kirby!

  14. Awwww…Clowie, my bestest ever Pyr Mtn doggy gurl furriend…you have shown me such kindness and love this year…you made me a special guest on you own blog, you sent Miss Cat Forsley to me and now I have my own Savannah’s Song…you are special..you take a nice relaxing break, and have lots of special time with Mom and Dad. Your Christmas tree is so pretty and I did not know that tradition in Spain; that is how uninformed I am…and how assumptions can mislead me…I assumed “catholic” and therefore Christmas was a given as we know it…you humble me once again by remembering what a world of differences we are and how it just makes it more fun to be part of this world. paw hugs, Savannah

    • I’m glad you’re my friend. We didn’t really know much about the traditions in Spain, until we decided to live here. Christmas itself is very quiet compared with what we were used to in England. Most families will have a large family dinner on Christmas Eve, but Christmas Day is a fairly quiet day for most – they go to church and recover from the evening before! New Year is a big celebration and then the excitement really starts to build waiting for 6th January. Large towns will have a parade on the evening of 5th January with the Kings arriving.
But most of the children now get any big presents, such as bicycles, on Christmas Day so that they can play with them during the holidays – otherwise they get their presents and then have to go back to school the next day! Santa arrived via Hollywood movies and traditions are changing.
I hope you have a lovely time at Christmas and New Year!
